ARE THERE ANY CONTRACTS OR FORMS THAT ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE START OF TRAINING OR BOARDING?

Yes, we will email you contracts that also let us know about your dog’s background and living situation. These forms must be filled out prior to dropping your dog off for any daily boarding, Board and Train Program or prior to our arrival to your private training lesson. If you are unable to fill these contracts out online, you are able to fill them out when you arrive to drop off your dog or before we get our lesson underway.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO TRAINING OR BOARDING?

Immunization records that are up to date which can be emailed from your vet to info@apk-9.com and any medication your dog may need to take while with us (heartworm, flea and tick preventatives and other prescribed medications, etc.). Please bring a regular flat style collar along with your county dog license and rabies tag. Please bring enough food to last your dog’s stay, plus one additional week. EXAMPLE:  If your dog is enrolled in our Novice Board & Train Program, please bring three weeks worth of food.

WHAT VACCINES DOES MY DOG NEED PRIOR TO ENROLLING MY DOG INTO A BOARD AND TRAIN PROGRAM OR DAILY BOARDING?

All dogs are required to be up to date on Canine Distemper, Hepatitis/ Adenovirus Type 2, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Bordetella (within six months), Canine Influenza (both strains: H3N2 & H3N8), and Rabies. These vaccines are required to help prevent the possibilities of your dog becoming ill. Please remember, vaccines only create a resistance to your dog becoming ill – not completely making them immune from all common communicable diseases that your dog may come into contact with. Although board and train programs and daily boarding are ran through our in home facility, we do take walks around the neighborhood, to parks, go on field trips to pet friendly stores and can not guarantee the total cleanliness of those environments. Boarding dogs will not go on field trips unless authorized by you for refresher training sessions.

WHAT SHOULD I NOT BRING TO TRAINING OR BOARDING?

Food and water bowls, blankets/towels (bedding), and toys are not needed. This insures that no outside contaminates are brought into our facility. All these items are provided by ALL PURPOSE K-9 LLC and are sanitized daily.

WHAT IF MY DOG RUNS OUT OF FOOD?

We will notify you if your dog is running low on food. If this happens, you may drop extra off or we can go buy the type of food needed for your dog. If ALL PURPOSE K-9 LLC is required to purchase food for your dog, you will be required to reimburse the company for such cost.

DOES MY DOG GET TRAINED EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK WHILE WITH YOU?

Yes, all training dogs get multiple sessions a day, everyday.

CAN I VISIT MY DOG WHILE IT IS THERE FOR TRAINING?

No, visits can induce unneeded stress on your dog. We want to have your dog completely focused so that he or she can achieve the best results possible.

WOULD I RECEIVE ANY TYPE OF UPDATE WHILE MY DOG IS IN TRAINING?

Yes. You will receive an update by phone every week that your dog is in our care. If you are unavailable for phone calls, we can accommodate by sending you an email that you have provided us. Please know that no news is considered good news.

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL MY DOG’S TRAINING?

If you are unable to reschedule or decide not to and you want to cancel your dog’s training, all deposits are non refundable. Any remaining balance, that has yet to be serviced, will be refunded. If you reschedule, your deposit will not be forfeited.

WHAT IS A GOOD AGE TO START TRAINING?

Any age is a good age! Remember the sooner you can teach, the better. Starting off with a clean slate is easier than teaching behaviors to a dog that has been unruly for quite some time. Another thing to remember is training will not change genetics. If your dog is hyper, you will receive a hyper dog in returning home – he or she will perform your directions when cued to do so. This will assist you managing your dog’s behavior going forward. Puppies and dogs who are 5 months old or older may participate in our Novice Board and Train Program provided they are up to date on all immunizations. Our Advanced Board and Train Program is geared for dogs who know basic, on leash behaviors and are a year of age or greater.

IS THERE A DEPOSIT FOR MY DOG’S BOARDING?

Only during holiday periods. If you need to cancel your boarding reservation during a holiday period, you will forfeit your deposit. During non holiday periods, please call as soon as possible so that we may help get other clients in for boarding – we understand that life can be unpredictable.

DO YOU SUPPLY FOOD WHILE MY DOG IS THERE FOR BOARDING?

No. Please bring your dog’s normal dietary needs. This will help his or her transition from your home to our home ran facility.

CAN I TOUR YOUR HOME RAN FACILITY?

Yes! Please call ahead so that we can make sure we have time to show you around. Training field trips, private lessons and daily operations are always underway. Please do not stop by as we may be unavailable to answer your questions or give you a tour.

CAN MY DOGS STAY TOGETHER?

For liability and safety reasons, no. That’s not to say they can’t play with one another while it’s their exercise time. We ensure that all dogs in our care get plenty of play time – it’s great to help build a bond and reduce the possibility of having pent up energy.

ARE YOU ABLE TO GIVE MY DOG HIS / HER MEDICATION(S)?

All oral and topical medications can be given or applied without a problem. We do not administer any shots at this time. Please bring the original packaging or prescription container so that we have all the needed information about the medication. Also, please provide us any additional details that we may need to know about the medication(s).

MY DOG IS SICK, CAN I STILL BRING THEM FOR DAILY BOARDING OR THE ENROLLED BOARD AND TRAIN PROGRAM THAT IS ALREADY SCHEDULED?
